I went from linux to xp, installed all the drivers and there's this annoying shortcut (maybe it isn't a shortcut and is actually installed there) for the webcam. I can't get rid of it. Any solutions?

Open regedit and navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace

It's listed by CLSID. Find the one for USB Video Device and delete it.

Thanks for the info, goofball, very much appreciated. :)

In my case I had to remove the following key:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\DelegateFolders\{E211B736-43FD-11D1-9EFB-0000F8757FCD}]
    @="Scanners & Cameras"
