acer aspire a150 black screen problem

i have the a150b and was working fine it has a 320gb hd in it and then all of a sudden black screen, i thought maybe the hd had gone, the power light still on etc, weird, anyway i got new hd and fitted and its still the same anyone have any ideas only thing i can think of is the ram? cheers karl
