    Hi, all.

Just joined and hope to find a lot of knowledge (and sympathy)...

I didn't find a similar thread so here goes:
My AA1 D250-1428 with W7 Starter suddenly stopped overnight.
Last shutting down went with no problem or anything noteworthy.
Green LED is on when the adapter is in so my guess is battery is full.

When I hit the power on button NOTHING happens. Tried it with and without adapter, nothing. No light, no humming or buzzing, no soft vibrations, nothing at all.

Removed the harddisk and tried that im my husbands HP notebook: works OK.

Tried to disassemble but I'm lacking a good guide here.

I'm at a loss... Anybody any ideas?

Thanks a lot for your time.

    Janna.

Press F2 at startup, in the INFORMATION SECTION of the moterboard is the harddrive listed?

If not then it's either a harddrive failure loose harddrive cable, motherboard or battery
    failure.

Other than these suggestions,You may have to wait for other members to reply

Thank you for responding. There is no way I can use F2 or any other command cause the AAO does not start up.
    There is no lifesign whatsoever.
In the troubleshooting guide on www.acer.nl it was suggested to disconnect adapter, remove battery and hold the on-switch pressed for at least 30 seconds, then replace battery, connect adapter and press the on switch. I tried that several times: no luck.

What I would like to know for sure is: do these symptoms (no lifesign at all) mean that the BIOS problem I read about a lot, is not the case here (cause the start-up sequence doesn't even get to the read-out of the eprom)?

    Thanks, Janna.

The turn it off for 30 seconds was meant to clear any static build up on the ram.

Some time it worked and sometimes not. that’s why I left the link to a member who
removed the ram to release the static build up. Bios problems are rare, unless the user chooses to fiddle. I was hoping that the F2 procedure worked to prove at least the motherboard and monitor was working fine. You may have to do some lengthy internet searching.

Sometimes it wont start if the fan is clogged WORTH A LOOK
