Thanks for taking a peek at my question. I have this aspire one netbook with XP, that will not sleep, hibernate or go on standby per the selection in the power options. The monitor will turn off, perhaps the hard drives do too, haven't paid them much mind.

Continuing. I just did a complete factory reset, not for that problem alone but becuase the thing had gotten so slow and despite removing many large programs it was still sluggish. Not even the complete factory reset has done anything to improve that problem, that problem being the subject of this post.

What gives? I could do no better than a complete factory reset and not even that is helping it to sleep, hibernate or go on standby. This must be a registry thing. Anyone have any insight to this?

    Thanks! Jack ":-D
