    Hi guys!
Just to tell you Linpus is working definitely great on the EEE 701! Wifi is detected perfectly, very fast boot and shutdown, but...
We have a problem with the screen resolution, not the task bar but with the background (here is the point).

    As you can see:

I tried to change xorg.conf, to replace the resolution values by 800x480 but nothing changed! I changed also the resolution file by replacing 800x480... nothing...

Here is my xorg.conf, I really would like someone to tell me what to do for the 701 community! It is a REAL good alternative to Xandros!

That doesn't look like a problem with the resolution of X, rather it is the desktop launcher program is configured to use a higher resolution. I don't know if this can be modified. A configuration file is ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/group-app.xml, but I'm not sure there is anything in there to tell it how much space it can use, that file may only contain details of the programs to be launched, I don't know if there are any other configuration files for it.

EDIT: Just found this thread which looks like it has the relevant configuration info.

There is also the desktop search bar is out of place, you can modify it's positioning in its startup script which is /usr/share/search-bar/start-search_bar.sh
