I have always wanted to know the key differences between the two operating systems. I heard that once you have a dual core processor or higher, you can run the 64 bit on your machine, but is the difference really just clock-speed and double ram capacity?

    Welcome to the forum

Most new laptops, and pc's will be able to run at 64bit.

Using a 32bit system restricts you to a max 4gb ram.

The main benefits for a 64bit system are you will be able to run more
high powered programs, graphic hungry programs, and games

The 64 bit system will be able use up to 128gb ram.

If you are running some 32bit windows systems then it's worth going
on line to see if you can upgrade it to 64bit for free.

What this guy said. That's all there is to it. It's just RAM. You should always choose 64 bit to be honest, only 4Gbs is too low in this day and age.
