I just received some pictures from a friend about the new Aspire one. As you can see there's a comparison between the 3-cell battery and the 6-cell battery. Plus Windows XP SP 3 on the third picture.

Hold on, first of all i dont think this is the standard sent batery that comes with the device itself.
maybe it is?
As far as i know the 3cell and 6cell are pretty close to the same weight.

I'd rather carry an extra normal battery, it cold probably fit in the slip case with the One anyway.
That thing looks horrible..

With 7 hours of continuous battery life, I don't really mind the looks. It provides a nice slant for the laptop too.

It is still small compared to the work leadtop !!!

Don't forget that is using M$ XP... why do you think it have a larger battery? -- every one knows that GNU/Linux with correct drivers and optimized runs smother, using less RAM, processor and energy.

In fact,I prefer to use XP with the official drivers than linux.
Ok,linpus is optimized,but you can't make any updates/upgrades nor install softwares you want (try install rythmbox) because of the acer libs.Even in extended mode.That thing sucks if you do want to use any software other than the one provided.It's just the same if you wanna use extra hardware....Where to get the drivers and how to install them?

With xp,you get the drivers/support and you can install whatever software/drivers you want quite easily,even open source one.
Ok lot of people find it smart to spit on xp,but for me,xp is certainly the most versatile/supported OS available(and it's certainly the oldest one too.Damn it's 6 years old and it will be supported 6 years more....No OS will have lived such a long time...Just try to have a 6 years old linux working on the AAO,even a current the current ubuntu has problems)

I will be interested to see how long the six cell One runs on Linux.
The dell leadtop was useless, my Apple laptop uses three batteries on a transatlantic filght, I don't work all the time.
The One will be a breeze on six cells

Ack! How could they do that to such a beautiful machine?! Looks like it was an afterthought when they realized three cells weren't enough. Good thing it's hidden at the back. I'm still looking forward to the long run time. 16 sleeps...
