Would a 4200rpm drive with 2mb cache be alot faster than the 16g ssd with xp installed? I found a 20GB ZIF Toshiba HDD1662 4200RPM 2MB 5.0mm 1.8" MK2008GAL for $20 monline and am considering the swap.

So $20 for a 4200 would be a good deal and nice performance jump?

It will be visible performance jump. I believe 20 is not much - it's about £10 then really chip... 20GB for Netbook is plenty by the way then IMHO it is a good choice...

Well after doing the ribbon fold to the opposite side (didn't want to order the flip one) for the connector I am up and running fast as heck. Just under $30 for the drive was a sweet deal!!!

Hello, I already change my SSD 8 GB for the 4200 rpm 2 mb, Toshiba 60GB. Maybe is too soon for say that but the increase in the speed was good, before the disk I ran Ubuntu 8.04 with compiz fusion activated and the effect got stock some times, right now it’s a beauty. Well the work is a little difficult and very risked but was a good invest of time and money. Sorry my English!.

ZIF and 5mm are the key and get a flip cable for it as well.
