rct2 works fine. Both this and SC:BW are done using Daemon tools, none of the n0-cd hacks I found would work.

    Call of Duty

    Hi,
just to let you know than "call of duty" (the first one) is working fine on the acer one 512 Mo version on xp.

I use the winsld xp pro sp3 corporate edition (200 Mo Ram usage after drivers and antivir installed) using swap file on the ssd (6go free), no prefetch, ssd cache allowed and documents and settings moved on the sdhc card in the left card reader. The game is also installed on the sdhc card

Game setting are 640x480, bilinear, textures = normal 16bits
    in console, to see fps:
    /set cg_drawfps 1

    First level:
In huge outside openspace : fps = 15
Inside room = up to 63 max
    average = 20 to 35

List of games I tested and work perfectly!

Soldier of Fortune - maximum setting! - a little bit laggy when the ennemies pop up and some framerate downgrade in heavy action area (lowering the setting doesn't change anything)

Quake 3 Arena - maximum setting! 100% working, no lag, very good frame rate, this game looks awsome on the small screen of the Aspire One.

Sim City 4 - default setting (somewhere between low and medium), 100% working - nice game BTW!

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 - minimum setting 100% working, medium setting is a bit slow and laggy

Return To Castle Wolfenstein - maximum setting! 100% working, no lag, frame rate perfect, this game look awsome!

Motocross Madness 2 - maximum setting! 100% working, no lag, no slowdown, very nice graphic on the small screen of the Aspire One!

Chris Sawyer's Locomotion - maximum setting (dah!) 100% working, no lag!

That's it...comming soon with some others! Don't hesitate to post your test!

Re: List of games I tested and work perfectly!

Am I missing something? I've got the 1gb / 120gb model. I installed my own XP Pro sp3, and installed all drivers listed in this forum (chipset, etc...). Quake3 is the only game running fast enough to really use. Counterstrike 1.6, enemy territory, allied assult....I have at MIN settings, 640x480. Although playable, they are really slow...to the point where I'd rather uninstall them. Other people are listing good frame rates for these games. Will the extra 512mb make that big of a difference? (I've got 1gb on the way). Or am I missing a secret Intel graphic update?

I think yes, upgrading to 1gb will certainly give you a boost of framerate.

Re: List of games I tested and work perfectly!

No adding another 512mb of ram will have no effect, Ive tested Enemy territory and half life 1 based games with 1GB terrible performance, it seems the Intel Graphics have trouble with a lot of games, if it runs with 512mb of ram then 1gb will only have a minor improvement like 3-5fps.

The indie game Cave Story works, if my brief test is any indication. Of course, I wouldn't expect it not to. ;)

    My Smooth/Playable Gameplay Games List

Thought I'd make my own thread as many include games that run, but by some peoples definition they are not smooth/playable. Though, some may consider a few of mine not smooth but hopefully most agree.

Flawless = more or less will run the same as it would on high-end desktop.

Age of Mythology - Runs pretty good, FPS isn't that high, but you don't really dont notice much, and is not needed.
    Arcanum - Flawless
    Baldur's Gate 1/2 - Flawless
    Red Alert 2 - Flawless
Diablo 2 - Flawless except minor stuttering when camera moving sometimes (but not low FPSstrangely)
    Divine Divinity - Flawless
    Dungeon Keeper 2 - Flawless
    Fallout 1/2 - Flawless
Final Fantasy 7 PC Edition - Flawless, low FPS in combat but you really dont notice
GTA Vice City - Flawless with right graphics settings
    Grim Fandango - Flawless
    GTA2 - Flawless
Max Payne - Almost Flawless (not so smooth in long open areas)
    MDK2 - Flawless
    Planescape Torment - Flawless
    Quake 3 Arena - Flawless
Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds - Flawless
Typing of the Dead - Flawless except minor stuttering
    Total Anihilation - Flawless
    Unreal Tournament - Flawless
    Rainbow Six (original) - Flawless
    Tiberian Sun - Flawless
    IceWind Dale - Flawless
    5th September Update Below
    Dune 2000 - Flawless
    Soldat - Flawless
    Starcraft - Flawless
    Populous - Flawless
    Worms Armageddon - Flawless
    7th September Update Below
Emperor Battle for Dune - Flawless (Max settings at 50+ FPS!!)
    The Sims - Flawless

    More to come when tested.

I'd like to point out that purely 2D games look absolutely stunning, especially if they do 1024x600 which most do throiugh simple editing or mods.

Hope my list is of use to some, thanks for reading :)

Re: My Smooth/Playable Gameplay Games List

Thanks for making this list it was much needed, and your idea of smooth preformance seems to on point :) , some other people have some very bad ideas of whats smooth preformance :? .
BTW do you mind if i add to your list?

Also a Note to people, when your AAO is pluged in preformance will be better the cpu will be running at 1.6ghz, if your power scheme is not on desktop when you unplug your AAO it will downclock resulting in lower preformance.

Tried it. Barely playable. Suppose mining would be ok, maybe some light PvE and of course industry, courier etc.

FPS varies from 5-20 depending on what your doing.
