Hi I need to know whether the AOA 150 (1gb RAM, 120gb HDD) handle 2gb of RAM and is it possible to upgrade? I contacted Acer yesterday and the denied saying that the max memory can only be 1gb... I've read the tutorials to upgrade RAM but they all seem to be for the 110 model... Please advise as I'm running Vista on my one and need more memory...

    Cheers!!!

can only handle a 1GB memory module upgrade (to 1.5GB max total system memory).

    Goofball was correct.

The 1GB AOA has 512MB of non-replaceable and another 512MB stick that can be swapped out. So we're stuck with the 1.5GB limit.

    ...fine

i'm running vista ultimate sp1 x86 on high performance power settings and it runs fine, i don't really use it for much, just browsing, torrents and messenger, programs like PS CS2 I run on my desktop PC as the small screen wouldn't be the best for things like that anyway...

I would prefer Kingston. They're well known.

If you're scared, my advise is, don't do it. You might screw up something and if you really want to do it, do with confidence. No guts, no glory...cheers... :D

check out the ram compatibility threads. Since you have to completely dismantle, it's best to at least get some grip on compatible modules. It would be a pain to install and find out it's not compatible.
