Acer One Aspire and VLC

    Is anyone using an external hard drive (Targus) with VLC on their Acer One Aspire?
    Are you having any problems playing DVD movies?
    It seems only some of my DVD movies will play and when they do, I can 't get rid of the bars at top and bottom of screen, so that the entire movie fits the screen.
    Can anyone help please?
