I have the same problem, and while I'm at it. How's everyones FPS? I get around 30fps which is about 50% of the correct running speed (50/60 is the correct running speed). Anyone know how I can improve this, or are we doomed to run snes roms on half the speed?

I got it working quite well with these settings:

    - install zsnes
    - install alsa-oss with package manager
    - start zsnes
    - change sound sampling rate to 480000 khz
    - set video to CUSTOM 1024x600
    - restart zsnes

    voilá, should work nicely!

Hmmmm... I'm not familiar with Fedora, but I didn't use the yum. Is there any difference with yum and that gui installer (Add/remove software)? I'm quite certain it installed something else dependant to alsa-oss, though I don't remember what :)

    Try using that gui installer...

    My audio settings:

    - audio on
    - stereo on
    - sampling 48000Hz
    - gaussian interpolation

Hope it helps... Zsnes & Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger works like charm on this little machine! :)

By the way, my FPS is around 57-60 with these video settings:

    Resolution:
    - CUSTOM OD F, 1024x600
    Filters:
    - Bilinear
    - Eagle

All other settings in their defaul values...

I played around with this before reading your reply. I read some stuff about ALSA and Oss so I installed something called alsa-plugins-oss which provide "Oss PCM output plugin for ALSA". I tried it and it worked! But only once, I think rebooted and tried again and it was gone, sound didnt work. I tried what you wrote in your post but no luck, still no sound.

I don't have a problem with speed though if I run the same settings as you though :)

When I had the linux version on test and I tried zsnes I got sound just by running zsnes with the "-ad oss"
switch, didn't need to install any packages.

I run ZSNES from terminal with "-ad oss" ONCE... Now the sounds work without doing that. Dunno if it's because of that switch or something else.

Normally you can just type the name of the program.

    So, just "zsnes" should work
