    Hiya,

Just want to let everyone know that I've successfully installed Xubuntu 8.10 Alpha 4 on Acer Aspire One 150 (1gb RAM, 120gb HDD) model. Boot time is around 30seconds.

Small list of what works out of box:
    1. Sound including headphones
    2. CPU Scaling
    3. Video
    4. etc

Since almost everything worked, I'll just list what did'nt and description of fixes.
    1. Sometimes xubuntu fails to boot (i.e. there is just blank black screen but u cant see anything, but head the sound) and that is because of the "splash" parameter in the boot options. If u disable that, it works great! (when booting off LiveCD, press F6 and delete "splash", then press Enter). Hint: When installing xubuntu press Alt and move window with mouse if it doesnt fit on the screen.
    2. First time you load ubuntu, press Esc when it starts loading and mentions boot menu (if you dual-boot dont press anything). Then select the general load mode, press "e" (or whatever it is for editing), then press "e" again and delete "splash". Hit Enter (two times, i think).
    2. Fronts were too big, so i had to choose 96 dpi in "User Interface Preferences"
    3. Wifi DOES NOT work out of box. Had to "sudo echo ath5k_pci >> /etc/modprobe.b/blacklist" and "sudo echo ath5k >> /etc/modprobe.b/blacklist", reboot, follow http://madberry.org/2008/08/how-to-get-atheros-ar242x-wireless-to-work-2/ this guide to install MadWifi. After installation do "sudo echo ath_pci >> /etc/modules". Works perfect =).
    4. Sound mute, vol up/down buttons didn't work so i had to http://www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1896#p13028
    5. Card reader does not work. I did not have the time to look at it yet. Maybe this will help https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne
    6. No idea if mic works.
    7. Built-in camera is recognized but I didn't test it.

This is just a rough draft. I'll try to write more tomorrow!

Excellent work. The sound/headphones issue is one of my few remaining issues.
