Wrong RAM?

    Just purchased a pny 5300 ddr2 sodimm 1gb and dismantled the aspireone inserting the ram. boots up but bios and windows still only shows 512mb

    If the ram is not compatible would it still boot up. As it boots up is this an indication that the ram is not properly seated? By the way the sodimm was 'for use on imacs' although i guess its just the same as any other ddr2 sodimm

    All ok now.. The ram was not properly seated.
