Reading the insanelymac post further, a user reported he had no luck with his AAO D150. Have you tried it and does it work for you?

Sorry, brushless, but i don't have a d150, just a good old a150 which I'm trying to replace. I just passed on the information from Insanely Mac to the forum. I'll ask the original poster for more details later, like OSX version compatibility , on which platform did he test the kext, and if he feels like writing a howto for us.

Meanwhile, for those of you who really have the d150, a bit of testing would do no harm...

    ;)

I tried this and while I get no errors, I also get no sound. Hopefully it's a step in the right direction though.

I tried it.. previously if I went into system profiler under audio devices it showed intel and the device id, now it shows available inputs/outputs, and I got a volume meter on my meny bar, but no sound. I went into system prefs/sound and toggled the output devices but still no sound comes out. If I play an mp3 in itunes the song plays, but no sound...

i think for the ALC272 AppleHDA.kext to work properly on the d150, we'll prolly need a ALCinject.kext similar to the A150 model. I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable can work on the port. The kext works for the toshiba laptop as confirmed in insanelymac forum.

This way, we'll have some options on which kext to use :D
