i am to scared to open up my aao and install the dw 1390 wifi card so my only other option is a usb wifi adapter.

i have herd that the netgear wg111v2 works on the aao. Is this a good usb adapter? and are there any other ones ?

    thanks

    That one probably won't work:

Says the drivers are only for non-intel, running OSX 10.3 and 10.4

Look for one that states in runs under, or comes with drivers for 10.5.

Also, an usb one may not be recognised as an airport, so will require you to use a 3rd party piece of software that comes with the drivers to connect every time. I had this with my Sitecom stick that I used till my replacement internal card arrived. The sitecom wasn't very good under OSX either, very flaky when searching for a hotspot.

I was very dubious about opening my AAO, but as long as you follow decent instructions and take your time, it really is very easy. I used this video guide.
