Wireless issues with Linux Lite

    My Acer Aspire One netbook was bought in 2008. I have just put back the Linux Lite OS (v1,0,9,E) - using the original recovery disc. Everything seems to be working except the wireless function - the BTHome hub wont recognise the protocol,and BT support say they cant help.! I can though, go online with cable and I can use the BTopenzone wirelessly.
    Is this just a matter of updating this older version of Linux Lite OS with a download? Can some one advise me?
