The Atom chip is not 64-bit compatible.

I noticed my AA1 has 2 CPU indicators in the Task Manager. In atleast a few system info screens i have seen it shown as having (2) 800 MHZ (threads?) some show (2) 1600MHZ ones. Is it possible that the CPU is HyperThread or something like that? When I was absorbing that info, I got the impression that 64Bit might be worth more research, but presumed no benifit as for me 64bit is primarily for breaking 2-3G limit on RAM.

64-bit won't work, it only supports 32-bit instructions, I tried to run Vista 64, and no go...
so 32-bit is already good enough in most cases.
and remember, this machine is no powerhouse.

According to Wikipedia, it DOES have HyperThreading. Maybe that's why it shows 2 CPUs in Vista rather than 1.

yes, hyper threading does make it show dual core.
I remember about two 1.8 years ago, I had a Pentium 4 630 and it had hyper threading and vista shows it as dual cores too.
