When the one is released will someone mind uploading a copy of the Windows XP recovery CD, I'm planning on buying a Linux version and then installing XP, I have a valid license.

ya that would be useful, just wonder if it comes with sp3 built in...

do not buy a ssd version if u are planning to put win xp on it...

or read the forum in advance about ssd (mostly) write speed under xp and the missing/bad drivers...

similar situation

im gonna get the 1gb 120gb blue linux AA1 and whip xp onto it via usb, ive got a valid copy of xp home i can use and theres a decent 'how to' guide for preparing a usb drive for winxp.

then im gonna put another gig of ram in it and hopefully upgrade the hdd, but im not sure if the hdd is soldered in, if it is, then i probably won't bother!

I doubt the new version will have the hdd soldered on since the current version doesn't.

oh. i thought i read quite a bit about ssds' being soldered in??!
Yeah, that was the word pre-release, but it was apparently based either on uninformed assumption or old information.

Concerning the XP recover CD, mine didn't come with a recovery CD. They have something on it for restoring to factory settings on there already.

The first partition (5~6GB) is the recovery partition. It's probably a good idea to back it up (using System Rescue CD and PartImage, for example) even if you are not going to wipe the hard disk.

Hong.

I made one when I received my AA1
Since I am in Canada, both French/English are available in the image.

I will post, tommorow from my job, the .torrent file to DL it.

I will seed only 1 time, so.....

The image is done with Acronis TrueImage Workstation 9
2 dvd, bootable under BartPe.
