Any how, when i open excel or word on the right hand side i have a panel /pane which is basically trying to get me to purchase the full software

Been as its only a netbook for small amount of usage i don't want it,
but i can't find anywhere to turn off the panel, ...

now the screen is not huge & this is taking up what 1/6?

You can't. That's the whole point of Office Starter. That pane will always be there. On full fledged versions of Office, that pane is not there.

It was free software that came pre-installed on the system, you can't expect much for the price you are paying for value added software like that ($0).

That being said, Office Starter is soooooooooo much better than that crusty Microsoft Works that used to be pre-installed on systems.
