If you have Vista installed already, simply use your favorite image mounting software, mount the Windows 7 image, and run the install straight from the mounted image. No need to create a bootable flash drive, or burn to DVD, and speeds couldn't possibly be faster. After the installer reboots the first time, there's no need for the files on the DVD image anymore anyways, so no need to worry about keeping the DVD mounted. This method is especially great for those of us with Netbooks. I installed it this way on my Aspire One without a single issue save for the WiFi problem, but that's not due to this method of installation.

will this work on windows xp ?

I am familiar with daemon tools

i have an iso of vista, and windows 7 and thinking about trying it. Will it also give me the option of multi booting my previous operating system i.e. win xp as well ?

    THanks Alun

Do you have to partition the hard drive as shown in the thread below to get it to dual boot?

i doubt that 512 would be very ideal unless windows 7 isn't as much of a pig as vista i have never used it my self so i wouldn't know

512MB RAM isn't enough! You need 1GB or 1.5 GB!
Windows 7 eats up about 500MB when not running any programs...

So, what would be a good image mounter for XP?
