If you are using linux and have an atheros wireless card, you might want to check the following, unless you already are compiling and using unstable kernel releases: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Download (compat-wireless)

Following the steps there solved my flaky and dropping-wireless-connection issues. Also, interestingly, wireless APs that seemed at ~30% increased now to ~70%... And powertop does not show any significant increases in use of power (~9W, no change).

    ubuntu users see here: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Downl ... _on_Ubuntu

another tip: once you are done installing, just reboot the computer --that was easier. Here's my card:
01:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)
    It uses ath9k...
    Model: AOD250-1613
