Our wifi kept dying 2-6 times per day and only a power cycle would get it back. lspci didn't even show the card when it failed.

We get Acer to swap the mobo (because it was often reluctant to boot) and the wifi (above) but the wifi still kept failing.

I gave in, bought another card (same make/model) on ebay for 4ukp, and it's fixed it! Wifi up for three days! Yay!

The ebay auction described it as "WIFI - Mini PCI-E Card ATHEROS AR5BXB63 ACER ASPIRE ONE , Item Number 270509465554", so identical to the existing one and no driver issues. Older one died 2-3 times a day, new one has been going strong for 10 days.

I followed disassembly instructions for adding memory but stopped once the wifi card was accessible. There are small screws, stiff clips, and small connectors, but it's OK as long as you take care.

As it's the same card, the wifi comes up straight away with no changes.
