I installed 7 per the threads here and everything seemed to be fine. I booted it up and was about to install the updated drivers but the Wifi adapter is no longer listed in my device manager. I tried searching for hardware a few times along with a few reboots but neither has worked. Does anyone know what could fix this? I appreciate any help.

Try shutting down and unplugging the battery for about a minute. For some reason this happened to me also, and happens once in awhile during heavy traffic, my wifi adapter just disappears... :( This seams to be the only fix. Has to be a driver issue.

Did you try using the switch on the font of your AAO? A longshot, but it maybe the reason.
