anyone else having problems with windows 7?

the only time this thing crashes(if it crashes on me) is when i watch video online. youtube, facebook, google video etc. I can go weeks with the system doing just fine(even watching lots of vids) and then ill get a couple days of it acting up. itll crash(memory dumb/blue screen) non stop. I just rebooted for the 4th time in about 10 mins..each time i tried to watch a quick video(a couple on facebook , then on youtube). Its driving me up the damn wall . My screen is already broken (by accident) , so what the hell i almost want to throw this thing at the wall the next time it crashes.
it was doing it before i broke my screen btw.
and it does it on any/all browsers ive tried. (ie,chrome, avant, opera etc)

    any ideas?

First of all, before you throw it at a wall, sell it to me ;). I want a spare one to try some mods on :)

Other then that, what OS are you running and what program with the video's does it crash.

I would suggest watching video's with an external monitor and the AA1 monitor turned completely off. There is a small small chance that the LCD is causing a power surge.

Have you done all the windows and software updates. How about Driver updates and BIOS update.

The above is all this you should just normally do anyway. but, it could also be a problem with the program, IE or the OS. If the external LCD does not work could you do a reinstall or an eRecovery?

Mine also crashes a lot, and I still don't know why. I think it's something graphics related but not to sure. A lot of times when it crashes is when I video is playing but I could usually go through a few videos before it crashes.

My Win7 install never crashed. even when watching videos, lots of it..... just do a clean reinstall. most times it's some app you've installed w/c is not 100% win7 that's causing the problem. ;)

well im obviously running windows 7 for the person that asked, since i posted in the windows 7 section ;) :p

it only crashes when streaming online(like i said in the original post...youtube,google video etc) . It works fine using vlc watching videos on my computer.

it used to prompt me for updates though it hasnt in a while, maybe i should double check. havnet doen a bios update because the system was stable.

i also have it hooked up to my tv as a monitor(with the small screen off...it is broken though)... like i said in the original post , sheesh ...did you read it? :p

my guess is some app i put in here isnt 100% windows 7 and its causing a screw up...and its HUGELLY annoying and random...i hadnt been back here cause its been running fine for a few days...just now it crashed 3 times in a row. (all corresponding going on the net...i usually want to go back to the site i was at/reading and pooof...it happens...then after the 3-5 time itll work fine)

this computer is a dual boot with OSX though i havent used it since my screen broke cause it doesnt automatically switch to my tv screen when it boots in osx....so i cant see anything...i wish there was a short cut get it to work on my tv, but i dont know it.

there is a hack for that for OSX but i think it modifies the PRAM, which you don't have. I cannot think of the hack right now but when i get home I will boot up my Mac and find it for you to see if I am correct.

I duo boot my Win 7 with the original xp that came with the machine. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Even though I haven't done it recently, I have reinstalled a few times before. Yesterday I was running a stream for a while on both IE and Firefox and none crashed but I also wasn't using it, just letting it run. Usally I'm multitasking when it crashes. I'll try to narrow down the problem.

Questions: do you use wifi or LAN?
If wifi: try downloading large files (at least 100 MB). Does the problem happen then as well?
What excactly do you mean by "crash"? A bluescreen? If yes, what does it say?

If your problem is caused by wifi the new 2.0.0.72 driver should fix it.

What AV are you using. I recalled having unexplained browser crashes on a test desktop PC... and I found out it was Norton Security 2009... I thought I'd give Norton another chance, but it turns out, it's still no good. Back to NOD32, problems disappeared like magic hehe. ;)

Are you using version 7077 ? I used previous ones and they are junk (aka very buggy). 7077 is likely to be the official Release Candidate and on my 10 inch Acer is very stable (and I installed it on other computers).
