    Hi

I looked and cannot find any post which relates to my question - probably because it is such a simple one that only someone totally ignorant of linux would ask it :?

My aspire one died following a live-update and I've created a recovery usb-stick. I also got a bootable ubuntu usb stick in order to see if I could get my data off as it appears the recovery process will wipe it all out.

So I booted up ubuntu and I can see the linpus partition and it's contents.

Problem - I haven't got a clue where to look for the default openoffice document directory where all my notes, etc were stored in order to copy them off. I tried the ubuntu search but it does not seem to work very well.

If anyone can tell me the path. I would be grateful

    thank you

    john

    /home/user/Documents

Note: if you had an expansion card installed, some files will probably be on there.

Thanks for that - files successfully recovered, I shall now try restoring the system.
