    Hi,

Anyone know where I might be able to buy a replacement fan & fan duct?

I'd like to mod mine by cutting holes in it so I can mount proper heatsinks directly onto the chips, the heatsinks will be cooled by the air exiting through the air duct once I seal it back up.

I'd like to be able to buy a replacement if I destroy it by accident.......

    Thx

If you mount a proper heatsink directly on the chip, you shouldn't need a fan at all. The atom processor has maximum TPD of only 2.5W. This thing idles at 0.2W and average at 2W at 100% load.

Heatsinks don't, sink heat that is. They typically just provide a larger surface area for the air to come into contact with. Just adding a heat sink will not improve cooling in a sealed enclosure, the heatsink needs somewhere to send the heat.

You could transfer it into the case and hope natural convection will deal with it or you still need a fan.

With a heatsink the chip will heat up and cool down slower, that is simply a result of the added mass.

Remember that you also have the chipset(s)
The total of the CPU+NB+SB is like 12W...

The part number for the OEM cooler is h60.S0207.005, go to viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3923 for instructions on how to order the parts.
