With so little information given from your post, I can't think of any to even suggest! Also, buying a computer depends 90% on personal references and financial amount you are willing to spend. What I like, may not what you have in mind. I think you can start making a list of specs that you want and do some general searches to see what comes up and go from there.

The brand means nothing. You have classes in every brand of laptops. You will probably need the one with good graphic card, processor, ram memory. In order to play new games you will need something like Origin EON15-X. It is probably very expensive but you can read about its configuration and aim lower but around it. CPU : 4GHZ Intel core i7...8 GB of ram. Something like that. If it is too much you find something around that and around your budget.

Since you are a medical student you should ask some of your professors of classmates whether to purchase a MAC or PC. There is a big difference between them. I know for the business world most people use PCs, and in the Music, Art and Creative world a Mac is the way to go. Find that out first then I can help recommend PCs!

I highly recommend you purchase a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Those one are perfect for work and play. I own one myself it's a 2011 edition and it still services me great for gaming and school.

Welp Nokia have always been ugly but durable little things. So if Toshiba is the Nokia of laptops, well then I'm flattered and so should the makers of Toshiba.

The HP brand is at the top on my list. I've owned the one I'm currently using for almost 4 years now. Let me tell you: I couldn't be happier. It performs well, has a large 17-inch screen, and does a great job when I'm running large applications simultaneously.

ASUS makes some good price/performance laptop that you may want to look into. Generally, Acer has good value for money but are not very durable (except their high ends of course). Or if you have a lot of cash lying around, then maybe try Alienware. They are very expensive, but very thick and well built. The only problem is their fetish for LEDs, but your preference may vary.

When you do go to buy a laptop look for coupons. I used a 10% off coupon at Best Buy and it saved me a lot of money! It was definitely worth getting it there over other stores.
Also, a lot of times stores have promotions running on certain lap tops, it may influence your decision.

You have not given enough information for us to suggest a proper laptop. I myself am a student, and enjoy playing some video games from time to time, and the Fujitsu Lifebook S792 works just fine for me. However, it may not work as good for you. Try and give us more information.
