    Cheers for the posts guys..

    add Conflict Vietnam
Brothers in Arms-Road to Hill 30
    WWII Iwo Jima
    to my list :D :D :D

also add Joint Operations ---- works but menu text is missing (will mess with settings etc) but it is playable and online too. just a bit hit n miss.

You will need 3d analyze to get it running and a screen res of 1024x768 with down scaling(use a1ctl to get it)

world of conflict runs good? I have never tried the lower settings, but it slows to 20 FPS sometimes on my desktop in DX10 mode everything turned up. I run a Q9650 @3.5 and dual 4870s. I would love to play on the AA1.

It runs fine for me. Occassionally stutters but what can you expect... great news for me as love playing it on my laptop so just copy saved files across and play from where I left off......WIC is by far the best RTS around..

Am trying to run Mass Effect but get errors about 'failed to compile global shader' with lots of exception errors. Do I maybe need DirectX or something loaded or is the vid card not capable?

Hi a few games require you to use 3Danalyzer(freeware google it) just set it up using that and all may run well. I have ran a few games succesfully using this. What it does is sort of creat a virtual graphics card up using yours a base. It then allows the features our cards do have to actually work... Give it a try.... if you need any further help just ask.

^Thanks much for the tip but it's a no go so far.

I ran 3Danalyzer, selected the MassEffect binary, emulated an ATI 8500 and did run. Now it says..
'Error injecting dll into target process'

    Any ideas?

Update: I used an older version of 3danalyzer and do not get the injection errors anymore but still get the same game errors listed in previous posts. Have tried the 4 different card emulations with no luck.

Older games work great w/out 3da but new games seem to need it. BTW, running HalfLife 1 well at 800 resolution. Pretty fast. Will try loading HalfLife 2 next with low video settings.

Update on HL2. It actually runs but skips a great deal even if stepping all video config down to lowest settings. I also tried bumping up the priority of hl2. I was surprised it ran at all. May check into HL2 fine tuning for low end vid cards.

BTW, bumping up the priority in HL1 does help, giving much smoother play.

I found this tunable in another thread for HalfLife 2 and it works pretty well with lowest video settings...

    "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 220 +mat_forcehardwaresync 0 +snd_async_prefetch_priority 1

Slow fps but very playable. Gets a little choppy outdoors but still playable.
