Webcam not working

    Two days ago my webcam stopped working on my Toshiba laptop. When I go to camera it tells me to connect a camera! I have googled without success and contacted my Know How Team which I subscribe to monthly. They suggest I reset my laptop totally back to factory settings which I do not feel confident to do. Has anyone got any ideas please? I feel there must be a simple answer as it just stopped working for no apparent reason. Have I pressed a wrong button?
