    Hi.

My Niece has an Acer laptop and I am trying to help her watch avi and other videos on it.

    Specs: - Aspire 0ne ZG5, Linpus Linux Lite v1.0.7.E, CPU Atom N270 @ 1.6GHz, mem 512MB, 8GB hard drive, Bios v0.3019.

I have installed VLC 0.8.6i Janus(wxWidgets interface), gcc ver 4.1.2 20070925 (RedHat 4.1.2-33), which I downloaded from the Acer site. When running avi video files, I only get sound and not picture.

Please help with settings or codecs to run avi files.

Sorry, I am extreemly novice and newby with the Acer and Linux systems, I understand and can operate Windows 7 fairly well.

    Thanks
