I bought an acer aspire one AoA 110-Bb a few weeks ago with a windows operating system. Looks great.. But SO slow!! Is it really supposed to take nearly 5 mins to get into windows and then another 3 or 4 mins to get into word?
is there something wrong with my notebook, or do I have too high expectations??

    I have two questions:

    1) I would really like to know the normal boot time for this notebook. Or more specifically, how long does it take the average user to get from switching on to writing in word? ...

    2) If my experience IS normal, is there something I can do to speed it up? 8 mins to start writing, does not work for me as a laptop meant for when on the move:(

What be grateful for any help

    Paul

Check out the steps to a happy XP experience thread.... 1st off, ACER sucked at putting XP on the SSD Aspire One's. It should boot at about 40-50sec... This has been tackled so many times that I suggest you just search around to find the answers.

    Here's a clip to show you how XP boots on A110 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SeOFl0J ... annel_page

    paul11111...

Did you ever find a solution?
That long a time to boot and to start Word seems excessive. I have WinXP and Word as well, and the main document I open is quite a big one and it doesn't take half that long!
