Has anyone had any success doing this?

I really like our Aspire One but its too small for me to use effectively. I bought it specifically for the road and for testing equipment but I do need Vista at times.

I got the Radio Shack Deal for $99...I needed high speed 3g anyways and figured I'd pick up the laptop. Worst case I sell the laptop and buy a USB 3g dongle. Well that time has come but most of the Aspire's sold here in the states do not have the 3G option and still go for $299 USD. I pulled out the 9212 and put it in a Dell D620. It recognizes it but no matter what driver package I install I end up with it installed as a COM device, not a USB device.

None of the software, HP's, Acer's, Dell's, etc...find it...they all seem to use the same Qualcomm card but the issue is driver related.

Anyone had any success getting one to work in another laptop?
