Please, advice would be greatly appreciated:

I'm very interested in upgrading from 8GB SSD to either a compact flash card or a PATA/ZIF 1.8" internal hard drive.

    Which would be faster/better?

    Thank you in advance.

    Sincerely,

    UUUnicorn

I'm looking at the Samsung Spinpoint N 80G 1.8" PATA/ZIF hard drives at

    http://www.samsung.com/global/business/ ... a%20mobile

    They are:

    RPM Buffer
    HS081HB/A 4200 2MB
    HS083HB/OMD 4200 8MB
    HS08YHA 3600 8MB
    HS082HB 4200 8MB
    HS08XJC 5400 8MB
    HS081HA 3600 2MB
    HS080HB 4200 2MB
    HS080HA 3600 2MB

    Please, any recommendation(s)/suggestion(s)?

    Thank you, thank you.

3600rpm could be to slow. I believe optimal speed for HDD will be 4200 or 5400rpm. Apart from that bigger cache will be beneficial for system. That's it :)

I've always been a fan of Samsung's hard drives. That Toshiba only has a 2MB cache. I'd say go for a 4200RPM to save a bit of battery life, and an 8MB buffer.
