upgraded my ram now no sound

    hi all ive just upgraded the ram in my one now i have no sound can anyone help me sort this out ?
    all my drivers are up to date .

    did you forget to put the audio connector back onto the mainboard?

    do any of the USB ports or the card reader work on the right side (same side as the sound ports)? if not, it is most likely as mentioned before, a cable issue (not connected or not connected fully).

    hi i think i put it all back right and yes the ports on the right side all work .
    maybe ill take it apart and see .cheers

    do you have sound through the headphone port? if so, maybe you disconnected the speakers and didn't connect them back?

    yes i have sound with headphones
    what do i look for when i take it apart ?

    after you have removed the keyboard and the cover, look for a black cable that should be coming from the speakers to the motherboard, the connector should be near the touchpad connector.

    Paid my local PC shop to upgrade my RAM and have the same problem. Just fired off a strongly worded email!!!
