    Has anyone done this?
I saw someone mention it but I haven't found anything.
I just installed the touchscreen and wanted some of the tablet edition 'features' but really don't want to do a full reinstall/

XP tablet edition comes on the second CD of the XP Tablet Edition, Just like XP Media Center Edition 2005 comes on the second CD. Your license key determines which components from the second CD get installed.

There was a Post install version of XP Media Center Edition 2005 which could give you clues on how to do a post install XP Tablet Edition.

For me it was easier to install Windows 7 Ultimate. Vista and Windows 7 have all the tablet components.

I would consider switching to windows 7 or vista if I could run it off a USB key for a while to see if I like it or not.
And I absolutely must be able to remote desktop to an XP machine in my house as well, would windows 7 do that?

Running off a USB, google liveCD. I have a copy of XP on a liveCD, while not eactly like XP it does give you an idea. So see if you can find Vista or Win 7 LiveCD.

Remote desktop, I have not a clue?

Cool I'll look into the windows 7 then.
I was contemplating trying it out anyway but with this SSD I don't have enough room to dual boot to 'test' it before I commit to it and I don't want to bother installing all that to find out I don't like it and have to reinstall XP all over again!
I'll have to find out about the remote desktop too.

Imaging software like acronis is the way to go.

I boot from my LiveCD of XP with Acronis software and make a backup image, easy as 1, 2, 3.
