    Hello All,

    I have a ASUS X53U SX181D laptop.
Main configuration of the Laptop are as follow :-
    Processor - AMD APU C-60 (1 Ghz)
    Ram - 2GB DDR3
    HDD - 320 GB
    Screen - 15.6 inches

I am thinking of upgrading my laptop's Ram so wanted your opinion about the same. Basically, I am planning to upgrade my Ram to 6 GB i.e. adding another Ram stick of 4 GB DDR3 capacity but a bit confused whether or not it is worthwhile because it seems it would Bottleneck with the processor.

So, please guide me whether or not to go for the upgrade keeping in mind the price of 4 GB Ram and the speed increase in laptop's functioning.

    Regards,
    Joojo

I think you are running windows 7 64 bit & Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit (Dual boot) on this computer right?

Since it 64bit you can add as much as you want that your system can take and in this case 8gig total. It is better to have more ram in your system, specially with windows 7 and up otherwise your system might use the page file on your hard drive thus slowing down your laptop performance.
