update linux lite for skype update

I have had my AA1 using Linpus Linux Lite v1.0.11e since last spring and really like it, especially for Skyping when travelling. Unfortunately I made the mistake of attempting to update my Skype version yesterday and now can't get Skype to initiate at all. Do I need to update my version of Linux Lite to update Skype - I was trying for the version using Fedora 9 or 10, where as the first time I believe I used Fedora 7.
If I need to update Linux Lite - how do I do it?
If I don't , or either way, how can I reinstall Skype - any version.
I really miss Skyping on my AA1 and I don't want to lose this capability of my perfect little netbook.
your help would be most appreciated

Update: thanks tot he many posts on this subject I was able to uninstall Skpye 2.1 for linux and reinstall 2.0 and it works - and it is working fine again. I found the version I needed for Linpus linux light 1.0.11E at http://download.skype.com/linux/skype-2 ... 5.i586.rpm
- so now i am very happy again
