    Hello ladies and gents,

    First post here.

Basically I have an A150 which crashed randomly so I removed the battery as nothing else would work and was faced with the blue screen of death. I'm running XP and have tried the chkdisk /r stuff but I am getting the error message that AUTOCHK.EXE cannot be located. I typed in the correct directory windows\system32 but still nothing. I even copied the file to the USB from which I was booting but still nothing.

I have scoured the net for hours but I've not managed to find a resolution.

    The STOPE error code is 0x86F807b8, 0XC000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

You guys are my last hope before I re-format.

    Thanks in advance

sadly its easier to re-install xp, just boot a live version of linux and backup all your important files. Well at least that's my input. I dont even bother fixing corrupt OS's anymore, just re-install it's alot cleaner :|

I managed to salvage the bugger.

I put the file in question on a pen drive and told DOS where it was and then followed the standard chkdsk /r procedure.

    Woooo!
