University VPN

When exact.y are you running the depmod -a?
Did you put the tun.ko in its respective location?

what does you error look like?

 

The download link for tun.ko does not work anymore, could someone please re-upload it. I have found a tun.zip using the download information as search parameters, but not sure if it will do the job or if it is compatible and how it might change the commands in the guide to use it. Only been on linux for a week or 2 still getting the hang of this so any help is appreciated.

 

i also got a problem with this... i followed the instructions but when i start the vpnc it asks for my password. if i enter the password, nothing happens for a few seconds and then terminal asks again for my password. it does this for a few times and then just says: "vpnc: no response from target". as the tun_drivers.tgz is not available anymore i tried the drivers from vtun.sourceforge.net/tun/ - might that be a part of my problem?

i didn't expect that logging into my university's vpn will be such a big deal. i'm doing research on this problem since i got my aspire one yesterday but i just don't get any further.

i would be really happy about some advice.

edit: it seems that kvpnc does quite the same... it tries to connect to my university's vpn but nothing happens. it just says "connecting" but it does not.
