    Hi
Im trying to create a bootable usb instal of the new ubuntu-9.04-beta-netbook-remix-i386 and am not having any luck. Its an IMG file and all the other linux OS images are ISOs.

It partly works with unetbootin-windows-319 and gets someway through the install but always crashes to a command line that flashes (initramfs)
I have tried to get several other ways to work but no luck, although I did get live4one to work this way after I completely formatted the USB as quick format didnt work, why this makes a difference I dont know.

I have looked for liveusb in ubuntu as suggested, but its not even an option to add.

Any suggestion how to get it to work? Is it the *.img problem?

    thanks remainz

from a terminal window type :

    sudo dd if=/dir/to/img of=/dev/sdb

make sure that /dev/sdb is where your usb drive is at first by using the dmesg command from a terminal. unetbootin will not work.
