We have never had a webcam, so sorry for the dumb question: how do you turn if off (to conserve power, as suggested) and then turn it on? Can you refer me to a general guide for using webcams? thanks.

    Hi TAYLORONE,

Are you using the internally built in Acer webcam or a USB peripheral, also are running Windows or Linux?

AFAIK cameras are not turned on until an appilcation calls them up. At least, in XP.

Same with Linux, so no battery consumption you have to initiate webcam use.
