Touchpad: How do I turn it off?

If you have a way I'd sure appreciate knowing how to turn this boger (touchpad) off.
I've notice that if I type for long the cursor jumps all over the place. I've taken this odd cursor behavior on my Toshiba Tablet by turning off the touchpad. Maybe this fix will end the jumping cursor on my AA1.
