    Hello everyone

I have an old Toshiba Portégé 3440CT not turning on.

The thing is that the matter is a little bit more convoluted: when I connect it to the AC adapter and I press the power button the green "laptop ON" LED turns on and the speaker starts emitting a very faint white noise. Most of the times this is all that happens.

Sometimes, though, after a couple of minutes the display turns on too showing the Toshiba logo and the normal "press F2 to select boot device message" (nothing happens if I press F2), and you hear the hard drive spinning up. After a few seconds like that the logo disappears and on the screen appears "KBC error".

Considering I've already changed the keyboard, can this problem be fixed? Does anyone know what's the culprit?

    Thanks in advance.
