My new 8gig SSD Aspire One with standard battery takes up to 4 hours to charge, regardless of whether the machine is on or off.

This doesn't seem right and I wonder if it is faulty, can someone advise please

On light use the battery lasts for 3 hours so that seems alright.

My AOA10 with standard batt pack takes less than one hour 15 minutes to recharge. I get about 2 1/2 hours on it. It was a floor demo, so I figured it had lots of use - until I realized it was probably on AC most of that time.

Long term I will probably move to a 6 cell. I wouldn't expect it to take more than two - three hours to charge - and fast charge batteries should become more commonplace as powertool technology crosses over.

Four hours for a three cell sounds too long.

for my 6 cell, it usually takes less than an hour to charge :D (only when it's discharged to around 15%)
