Wanted an AAO for browsing and watching movies. Ended up with a bargain AAO110

Gave up early on the Linpus OS, so moved to Ubuntu, which I liked the look of - but a bit of a learning curve for me. Essentially I wanted wanted XP so it was compatible with everything else I have. So I looked for the upgrades I needed

    1) Extra 1GB ram - Kingston KVR533D2S4/1G - Got this from play.com for £10.99

    2) 60GB Toshiba 1.8" ZIF drive - got this from ebay for £35. This thread provided all the info I needed viewtopic.php?f=43&t=1154&start=30&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=mk6008gah. The only tip I'd add is that I used a Dremel grinding stone to remove one of the screw mounts for the solid state drive that otherwise gets in the way when installing a 1.8" drive. Took no time at all and very tidy. Just have a vacum cleaner close by for all the dust.

    3) 10cm ZIF cable with white and blue ends from ebay again for a couple of pounds.

This thread then gave me all the info I needed to take the AAO apart and install the new drive and memory viewtopic.php?f=40&t=2673

    4) Then used this info to create a USB key to install XP
