    It's too good! :D

I've hooked it up to a 19inch 1440x900 display, which always looked fine to me, and now thanks the the One, it looks so blurry in comparison! The pixel density is obviously nowhere near the same... Just looking at the height, about two and a bit of the One's screen could fit into the 19inchers height. So that would be the equivalent of about 1200ish versus 900...

It can't be helped I know... just felt like 'complaining'. ;)

Check that your AAO is set to 1440x900 mode, otherwise the monitor will scale the image. LCD monitors typically do not do a very good job of scaling.

Oh guys, give me a bit more credit, I know how to set the external monitor resolution to the correct settings :)

Like I said, I think its down to the screen of the one just being quite nice to look at compared to an older LCD monitor with a lower pixel density...

That and VGA signals sometimes aren't as sharp as say.. DVI.

If your monitor is blurry, there's something wrong.
Try setting the AAO to display image on the external monitor, then unplug the power from the monitor and then plug it back in 1-2 seconds.

Well, my AAO running XP can drive a 20" 1600x1200 display and shows crisp clear text and (more importantly) images. Nothing wrong with (my) AAO and that's is going through the 15 pin analog socket (my other computers plug into the DVI socket).

Try a different cable. My AAO runs nicely on my 47" tv at home at 1920×1080 (is that the correct 1080p resolution numbers?). Anyway at first, I used a rubbish long cable which gave a bad picture, but on using a smaller higher quality one, I got a perfect picture.

Theoretically, VGA signal is capable of exceeding DVI and hdmi signal in terms of picture quality, maxiumum resolution and interface bandwidth. VGA can easily handle resolution and refreshrate which are not attainable by dvi signals thus they invented "dual dvi link" for highier resolution monitors.

I have an AOC L19W898 19" 1680X1050 16:10 TV/Monitor. It doesn't "plug & play" to display the max supported resolution in Windows desktop properties (and I have not found an external driver to do that yet), but the slightly less intuitive Intel utility on the system tray sets it up fine as extended desktop at it's native 1680X1050 resulution. It is crisp and clear as that resolution on that screen size can be and obviously the more common 1440X900 resolution for that size panel would be marginally less so but still ought to be acceptable.
My 32" panel is 1366X768 and it doesn't look bad.

carlos_arias1 - is your AOC 22" an 898 series? I am curious if you have used the audio out jack into a set of powered speakers and if that worked OK for you. It takes some messing around to get that to work on mine.

*sigh* So many people jumping the gun...

I get what you're saying. I agree. The AAO screen is beautiful. And even my large LCD monitor looks washed out in comparison. Curse those devils at Acer! lol

When I took my AAO up to my 22" LCD monitor for my desktop it doesn't change the resolution, it just stretches it out. When I go into properties I can exceed the resolution of the AAO's LCD...what program Am I missing that would let me do this for external sources?
