System recovery disc problems

    I have been trying to create a USB recovery from the recovery CD Rom.

    Followed instructions to boot up from CD - OK

    Get screen with 3 selections, and selected 'create USB...'

    Next I get an ACER screen, with bar along bottom - that's it !!! apart from caps lock and scroll lock lights flashing on keyboard.

    Tried another computer, but same result

    Any ideas ? (Phoned acer helpline, they just reiterate instructions and offer no suggestions other than they will sort for £70 :evil: )

    same problem here. using a windows7 machine with a dvd drive (mines a dvd rom not a cd) gives your result. But another machine running xp worked fine- so my suggestion is try other 'puters.
