Has anyone given any thought to swapping the Atheros out for something else (not wireless N mod like tnkgirl)? I was contemplating putting in an Intel 3945 to see if it alleviates the weirdness that many seem to have with the Atheros plus it might be a bit better on power and on strength as well.

Maybe he's talking about the thing where, when you activate the xfce desktop, it forgets passwords and can't connect? :?

What are you talking about?

I'm talking about the countless threads with people having issues when on battery and connectivity with the Atheros. Sometimes, power-save options in Windows XP allows them to get better connectivity and sometimes not. I've got a dead-zone with the Atheros that I don't have with my other Acer laptops that use Intel wireless cards.
