Do I need to know what the supervisor password is i order to enter the bios to reinstall my OS, which is Linpus Lite? In the help section on the netbook it says if you have forgotten your supervisor password then contact your dealer or service centre.

Can you remember if you set one in the first place? I just press F2 to get into the BIOS as I've never set one up. Of course, if you've set it up & have forgotten it ...

I don't have the Linpus version of the AA1, so don't take this as gospel, but I believe the resoration is simply uncompressing a compressed image of hte operating system to your SSD or HDD. If that indeed is the case, you shouldn't need a supervisor password, because you're not going to mess with the BIOS settings.
